As a part of the United States Postal Service's (USPS) plan to return to profitability by 2015, postage rates will increase for a second time within the past year. On January 22, 2012, rates will increase between $0.004 and $0.01 per piece, depending on the size and type of mailing sent by MA&A clients. The good news: the second ounce for presorted letters and statements will be free. What does this mean exactly? You can now place more pages in your mailing envelopes (up to two ounces, or about 10 pages) without paying more in postage. This means that sending more information to customers, like newsletters and other inserts, will cost you less in postage than before, and services like Multiple Bill Insertion will allow you to save even more in postage by automatically placing multiple statements intended for one recipient into a single envelope.
A full description of the new First-Class postage rates is provided below:

With the increasing frequency of postage rate increases by the USPS, more and more billers have turned to the cost-saving and convenience-enhancing benefits of electronic billing. Dozens of billers have already cut paper invoicing costs by up to 55% per customer with MA&A's paperless billing program.
